General information and job description:
We are currently recruiting for a state-of-the-art battery factory in Skellefteå and are looking for production and process operators for all parts of the factory’s production. By joining the company’s staff, you will play an important role from the very beginning in building one of the first large-scale European battery factories to produce the world’s greenest lithium-ion batteries.

Place of work: Sweden – Skellefteå

Start dates and duration of the contract:
Starts: immediately and continuously throughout 2023
Contract length: long-term contract for an indefinite period

Job description:
As an operator, you work in Northvolt’s core – where the battery cells are manufactured. Key responsibilities include inspecting and monitoring machines, replenishing material and contributing to continuous line improvement. You will work in a state-of-the-art modern facility with new technology, in close cooperation with other operators, shift leaders, maintenance, quality and environmental personnel.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
– Report malfunctions and deviations on equipment, as well as perform root cause analysis of various problems.
– Ensure safe operation. Daily work on safety improvement to achieve world class safety.​
– Monitor the process from the control room – you regulate pressure, temperature, chemicals, etc.
– Carry out sampling to ensure that the material is not contaminated
– Perform visual inspections and maintenance of equipment (pipes, pumps and valves)
– In case of failure and deviations affecting production, take the right steps.
– Perform risk analysis and issue permits according to established procedures.
– Support managers and colleagues in creating a good working environment through inclusion, motivation, commitment, creativity, good communication and high ambitions.
– Actively participate in safety, quality, environmental and process improvement work in accordance with Northvolt procedures and legislation.

Production currently operates in a 5-shift operation, which will change over time. Currently, the company runs in a 24/7 system, so, for example, the variability can be:
2 morning shifts (06:00 – 14:00)
2 afternoon shifts (14:00 – 22:00)
2 night shifts (22:00 – 06:00)
6 days off

Salary: for production operators, the basic salary starts at €2,200/month gross, with the fact that after including variable allowances, the average monthly salary is €2,600-3,000/month gross (the tax burden in Sweden is approx. 20-35%, depending on the classification in the tax class when applying for a tax card).

The salary is paid monthly, always at the end of the month.

Travel to Sweden: Your employer will reimburse you for your flight ticket to Sweden after successful boarding

Applicant requirements:
– any experience in industrial production (it is not a requirement in battery production)
– English language at communicative level B1 and higher
– a citizen of an EU member country

Accommodation: The employer will help with accommodation, while most accommodation options are approx. 6 km from the place of work. The rental price can range between €540-€1000 per month depending on availability and whether you live in a single or double bedroom, apartment or flat. Other facilities and rooms such as a fully equipped bathroom and kitchen will be shared with other employees. It is possible that you can arrange the accommodation yourself.

Transport to work: For the journey to work, pick-up buses are used for all shifts from the center, which pick up employees at selected locations on the way to the plant. The price of transportation is €50/month.
